I wish I could give The Freezer in Homosassa a better review, but this place was an absolute disaster. First off, the service was a joke. A woman was literally running around the restaurant yelling about how long her food was taking. At one point, the entire crowd started to get frustrated because multiple people were waiting forever for their meals. It was clear the staff had no clue what was going on. The bar staff looked completely confused and uneducated about the basics of running a bar, let alone handling a busy crowd. And if you think that s bad, there was a chihuahua running around aggressively, barking at customers as they tried to walk through the door. I don t know if it s supposed to be part of the charm, but it s just bizarre and uncomfortable. The whole experience felt like chaos everything was so disorganized, just like the other reviews have mentioned. This place has zero control over its operations, and it shows. If youre looking for a smooth, enjoyable dining experience, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else.

Great place for some food and beer. I had the tilapia and shrimp and it was fantastic. The clam chowder was great, just wish they gave you more. I also had a couple Coors drafts. Its a great place to see and perfect hang out spot, will definitely return

My boyfriend has a medical condition that requires him to drink a lot of water with meals. This place doesn t have self serve water or table service so we brought our own water bottle. This is apparently a huge deal, we were made to feel like criminals and staff made a scene where we were forced to dump the water out in front of them. No regard or care for someone with a medical need. I understand rules but the staff were incredibly rude and not understanding nor accommodating. We have been coming here for years and will not be returning

The Freezer has the best Shrimp! It comes with a delicious seasoning and is the best tasting Shrimp weve had here in Florida!! We always sit out side so we can watch the boats come in and see the wild life there. When family comes in that it the first place we take them and often they say during their stay lets go to the Freezer again!! It may not look like it from the road but this place it the place youll want to come back to!!

I recently visited The Freezer in Homosassa, Florida, and it was an incredibly frustrating experience from start to finish. The food took over an hour and a half to arrive, which is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, our waitress actually admitted that she had forgotten to place our order. While waiting, we were left without any updates, and it was clear that the staff was disorganized and overwhelmed, with little communication among the team. The service was abysmal, and the lack of organization in the restaurant was evident throughout our visit. Even though we repeatedly asked about our order, no one seemed to have any answers or offered any meaningful explanation. The only positive part of the entire experience was that the beer arrived quickly, but that hardly made up for the lack of attention to the food or the customer. Its disappointing when a restaurant cant manage to get the basics right. What made the experience even worse was the complete lack of acknowledgment or apology from the staff. No one offered an explanation, a discount, or even a sincere apology for the incredibly long wait and poor service. For a place that clearly doesn t prioritize customer satisfaction, I won t be returning, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.

Local watering hole where you order at the counter, pay with cash only, and speak in short sentences. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and the beers were ice cold. I would come here at least once a week, if I lived here.

This tiki bar has everything. Spacious inside covered seating for those who want to be inside. Lots of outside seating with authentic grass umbrellas. Its also got a beautiful marina if you want to look at the water. The wildlife wanders around and doesnt mind if you throw it a crumb every here and there. Such beautiful birds. When you get there and park the car, you have no idea whats behind the wall. Its a shock to see such a nice place with wonderful food. We got the shrimp and it was delicious. Topped off with a beer. Doesnt get much better. The place is kind of hidden down some back roads, but its more than worth the drive. I highly recommend The Freezer. I will definitely be back.

We were in town for 48 hours and discovered the freezer messing around on our kayaks. We went a total of 3 times and had steamed shrimp, muscles, clams and some fish. A few margaritas and blue moons too. Nothing disappointed. Friendly staff, fun atmosphere, parking on the water is great just watch out for the resident alligator.
